Swayambhu, also known as the Monkey Temple, is an ancient religious architecture atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. The complex consists of a stupa and quite a few shrines and temples; some of which date back to the Lichchhavi period. Although the site is considered Buddhist, the place is revered by both Buddhists and Hindus.

During this photowalk we had with us Mr Ashesh Rajbansh, senior photographer and camera expert, representing SONY. He lead the discussion on the following topics:

  • Understanding the capabilities of your camera
  • Importance of planning ahead

Our discussion then moved on to planning the details of our upcoming Travel and Wildlife Photography Trip to Chitwan National Park.

Here are a few selected photographs taken by the participants of photowalk, followed by a short video shot during event.

Read the Photowalk FAQs to know more about our photowalks and how to join.
